Do I have to use the token option?

Whilst we only publish the token option to you, there is another option called OpenLink however we prefer not to use this method. The OpenLink method is only available by request.

The main reason we prefer the token option is because it offers another layer of security on your transfer. Should your recipient have sent the download link on to somebody else "new recipient", the token is only delivered to the original recipients email address therefore access to patient data is kept secure.

If the transfer was sent via OpenLink and the recipients emails were intercepted or the original recipient sent the email with the download link on,  the "new recipient" would be able to access and download the file(s). If there was a token in place, the "new recipient" wouldn't be able to gain access to that data without that token or code.
